Chicken Dhansak. Lovely flavours but a touch mild. I always ask for it to be cooked madras hot. Best from Curry Mahal- Portland Road and Ganges which is further into Hove.

Let's change tack slightly - what is the hottest curry that you have had, that hasn't given you the dreaded Bombay Bum the following morning?
Do yo have an asbestos arse or a delicate derriere?

Do people actually eat hot curries because they taste better than milder ones or is it just to boast about how hot they like their curries? I personally find no pleasure in eating something so hot that it makes you feel uncomfortable and where each mouthful needs to be accompanied by a glas of water.

This is just HELL, As I left the pub last night all I wanted was a Curry and guess what the Curry house had stopped serving! I could see and smell it but not eat it I could have cried.

I was all ready to try something a little hotter as well.

Took the wife for her Christmas present the other week to see the stage play Warhorse (superb) had a look round Covent Garden before the show, and found Masala Zone in Floral Street. There specialty is Thalis a large platter including a dish of your choice with an accompaniment of many side dishes and pickles. One of the finest Indian meals I have tasted and excellent service from very friendly and helpful staff. It is, I think more true Indian food than the usual Bengali Indian food. As we were heading for the theatre we ate early, and it was quite empty, but on leaving the queue was out the door and down the road!
They apparently are a fast growing chain and have several branches in London well worth a look if you are up there.

Christ I wouldn't dare to eat a phal - bhafc99's wife is a legend if she can eat one of those - I like that lime pickle stuff though on poppadoms that's pretty hot at times!!
