What Wrexham should do!

I think it has come to the point where the only action that is really going to help Wrexham is that of Serious disorder at matches.

At the time I was against the pitch invasion and goal post destruction at the Goldstone when we played that supposedly last match at our beloved home, but with hindsight it raised more publicity to our plight than possibly any other single event.

Wrexham are on the brink and are still not getting the coverage they need to show what a bastard their chairman is, my reccomendation to their fans is to storm the pitch, break the posts, get games called off.

The FA will then be forced into action. What is the worse that can happen? Getting fines etc, well at this rate they will have no club at all!

On NSC for over two decades...
More point deductions, on top of the one they'll get for going into administration. They are starting to get more press coverage, I don't advocate this course of action - see what happens Saturday.

The way I read the situation today is that Wrexham are turning the corner. Hamilton and Guterman have suffered a massive setback in their schemes. The two Daves have got the club into administration and the scene is set for a rescue package that will be in the interests of the fans and the long-term survival of Wrexham Football Club.

Had the events of this week gone another way (and it was touch and go), then a broken cross-bar would have been a very powerful message. But not now.

Besides which, it is for Wrexham fans to take the lead and devise their own campaign tactics. We must support whatever they decide to do.

Your right, this last week has gone OK, we are turning the corner, we want to make Saturday a special day. We could have gone out of buisness on Wednesday and that would have been the end but we've survived. I don't see how breaking the crossbar is going to achieve us anything. Its getting better as Lord B said, admin is far better than either Gutterman or liquidation. Breaking the crossbar is just going to result in more fines, more points deducted at a time when thats the last thing we need.

Would sure be fun to break the crossbar though! :lolol:

Seriously the point is that pitch invasions and breaking the goals are done to grab public attention - Wrexham doesn't need that, it has got the nation's attention at the moment.

I was chatting to Bob Gilbert (veteran of Donny Rovers fight) the other day and he made the point that (probably thanks to email and the net) Wrexham have far more press coverage, PR and public attention than either we or Donny received eight years ago. Now they need to take advantage of that spotlight and goodwill and use it - as they are doing.

One final point: the Wrexham Supporters Trust are a switched on, imaginative and very astute band, they are the real heroes in all of this ... their club will survive thanks to their endeavours

Fair enough if the corner has been turned, I didnt realise that.

OTLW, I disagree that Wrexham have had as good coverage as we got, we got serious amounts and most football fans knew what was going on at our place, hence the amazing Fans Utd turnout.

Of course its up to Wrexham what they do but if there is nothing left then that snapped crossbar works like nothing else!

I think what I failed to say is that Wrexham got the coverage fairly quickly and big time ... it took us well over a year for the nation and its press to wake up to what was going on at the Goldstone

I agree with the sentiment of "see what happens tomorrow" IMO Fans utd 97 was the turning point in the battle to save Brighton and Hove Albion. The message that was sent to Archer and Bellotti was loud and clear. HOWEVER....Away from the racecourse ground. Make it personal!!....Get my drift? Hit Hamilton where it hurts. If it means those close to him get hurt in the process then so be it. Once Mrs Hamiltons life starts to get uncomfortable, her bar steward husband will soon start to get it in the ear from his dearest. Towards the end of our struggle, Shirley Archers tongue became our very own fifth column in Mellor village. Thought about advertising the fact that it would be nice to spend Christmas day with the Hamiltons Gnasher?? ???

Btw....Alex Hamilton isn't related to Neil Hamilton by chance? They both live in the Cheshire area and both seem to have the same kind of business principals!......

The immediate need for Wrexham is to find their Dick Knight who is willing to take over the club in the next two weeks and pay the Inland Revenue to prevent the club going into Administration. I know this is unlikely, but I do not see how snapping the crossbar is going to help?

If I have got the facts right, the second problem is getting hold of control of the ground. Or at least not getting thrown out (if the club can pay their bills) when the tenancy agreement with Hamilton (or whoever) runs out.

And of course the endeavours of fans of other clubs who care.

theres plenty we have done to make his life hell. We've paid visits to his house (as groups and indivduals have made the trip) and despite claiming hes only scared of his wife and his bank manager hes got security on his gate ;) . At times I wish Hamilton had had more of a bumpy ride, that he had been made to really pay. But he hasn't had it easy thats for sure.

Must admit I think we've turned a corner publicity wise.
This Fans United day has given us massive attention thanks to everyone who has organised it.

I think at this stage we just need to keep doing what we are doing and allied to what everyone else is doing the momentum is with us now.

We've got a massive fight on our hands but with everyone's combined efforts we will come through this I believe.

I don't think there is much need to do stupid stunts as yet because we've got everyone on our side at the moment I think.

Just hope that when the FA Cup 3rd round gets drawn it comes out Wrexham V Brighton. Then we can have a real party.Might ruin the Wrexham v Donny match but wouldn't it be a laugh. Wrexham can do what they like, regard breaking goalposts etc pitch demos what ever it takes the football world is now behind you.
