I've included some injured players who are expected to be back in good time before the tournament but excluded the Lamptey cases.

Goalkeepers
Karl Darlow (Newcastle)
Nick Pope (Burnley)
Freddie Woodman (Swansea)

Steve Bruce dont think Darlow is good enough, but I do so **** him and **** you too. Sanchez is close but a bit Spanish.

Defenders
Matty Cash (Aston Villa)
Matt Targett (Aston Villa)
Luke Shaw (Manchester United)
Kieran Trippier (Atletico Madrid)
Harry Maguire (Manchester United)
John Stones (Manchester City)
Ben Mee (Burnley)
Adam Webster (Brighton)

Central/defensive midfielders
Declan Rice (West Ham)
Mason Mount (Chelsea)
Kalvin Philips (Leeds)
James Ward-Prowse (Southampton)

Wingers/AMCs
Jack Grealish (Aston Villa)
Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund)
Raheem Sterling (Manchester City)
Marcus Rashford (Manchester United)
James Maddison (Leicester)
Phil Foden (Manchester City)

Strikers
Harry Kane (Tottenham)
Jamie Vardy (Leicester)

Looks thin but plenty of the wingers could play as strikers.

Reserves:
Jordan Pickford (Everton)
Michael Keane (Everton)
Lewis Dunk (Brighton)
Josh Brownhill (Burnley)
Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund)
Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)
Dominic Calvert-Lewis (Everton)
Michail Antonio (West Ham)

Edit: If someone could change the "you" to "your" in the title my life would improve 0,001%.

Crumbs. Pretty dire isn't it!!!

I'd add Callum Wilson in there.

I'm going a little more Gareth Southgate than you ... but hopefully not too much

What about Barnes?

The Leicester one, obviously.

Our squad?

Really?

The squad Southgate will select is easily good enough to compete into the later stages of an international tournament. No guarantees as random things happen in one of games (as we've seen with the Albion), but we should be going balls deep this time with the array of attacking talent and a few decent centre backs. Stones return to form will be huge for us.

Get the point about centre midfield, but Rice is really emerging and will be an international force now.

Personally I fancy Portugal this year, but there is no reason we shouldn't be extremely competitive

Hid injury didn't look good.

He'd be in the mix if fit, but a lot of competition for those places

We always seem to have a place in the squad for an injured player.

Pretty much sums up why I have little to no interest in anything England related. The talent pool, whilst exciting, is going to have the spontaneity and creativity drummed out of it by one of the most insipid dull managerial personalities ever.

Literally couldn’t care less [but of course enough to come on here and moan about it!]

I get picking TAA because, despite being shite all season, he got some very useful qualities.

But Greenwood? Why?

Sure I thought of him but who would you drop? The competition is massive on that position.

Well, Greenwood awful in front of goal yes, but that's ok, because midfielders should score goals as well, so that excuses your striker for being crap

If you think Greenwood would help his team score more goals than Vardy despite not scoring them himself, I think its a great choice.

Personally I would have gone with Vardy. Hell, I would have gone with Vardy over Maupay, but thats not an option.

Agreed. Our options in attacking midfield/wings are terrifyingly good. Yes, some issues elsewhere but just so much creativity and firepower. Hope Southgate sets up the team and style of play accordingly.

I think he will.

I'm a Southgate fan (saying this feels a bit like coming out).

Anyway, he'll get murdered in the press for playing the double pivot, (why do you need to play 7 defensive players etc etc), but this totally ignores that the wing backs will play closer to being wingers than they are full backs. It's very similar as describing Lamptey and March in our team as defenders .... not that accurate, it doesn't describe what they bring.

The above assumes that there will be no massive change in formation from recent games

Personally, I'm confident we'll run riot down the flanks this summer, likely Grealish and Chilwell linking on one side and TAA and Sterling on the other ..... though there are lots of options and permutations. Foden I also expect to feature heavily. We'll ship a few of course.

Can I just say, I do think we'll be crap in the upcoming international break .... as players won't have their hearts in these matches to put it mildly. But I think, big summer of football, lots of home soil games, euphoric and largely vaccinated population back in the pub for a lot of the tournament, good attacking players on show .... I think it will be good when it comes around .... and we'll go out in the semis on pens
