I think El-Abd and Hammond HAVE to start, they are local boys and have been at the club as kids and I reckon they will UNDERSTAND what the game means for the fans. I would sacrafice some pretty football for players that will leave everything on the pitch.

I would rather win an ugly game 1-0 with players having to be carried off the pitch at the end than trying to play pretty football and losing.

Well in my mind, if fit the following players pick themselves for a Derby game

Kusczack

Greer
Al Abd
Bridge
Bruno

Bridcutt
Buckley

CMS
Barnes

Its then bewteen Hammond (I beleive this type of game suits him), Crofts or Orlandi (looking fantastic at present).

Dunk, Caldy, Brez, Dobbie, Lopez, Painter plus one of the above make great back ups as subs

I would have exactly the same team who started last night.

In fact, exactly the same subs.

PS: It's is the Capello 4-4-2 variant. It would counteract the rigid Palace formation.

The real think is that when the home team gets frustrated, we take off a midfielder and then go for the win as it can easily transform into 4-3-3.

PS: I forgot about Hoskins whom I don't really rate.

Have faith in Dobbie, he will love a tight pitch in a highly charged derby and produce the goods..... If Gus gives him the chance!

I think Ashley Barnes brings very little to the table when playing at home. However, I wouldn't be surprised (or even annoyed) if he started on Saturday. Painter is a weak defender and will need help against a tricky Zaha.
Playing a more defensive set up away from home to the Leagues second placed team is nothing to be embarrassed about. I'd take a point and if that means starting Barnes, hell, lets do it.

Painter is not a weak defender he is a very good defender but not the quickest and this could be our undoing

but if not tht...he can start lopez, dobbie, barnes, hoskins if he likes, all shows the strength of our squad, and non of em would look out of place in the palace team

Dobbie would get in. None of the others.

Should be a good game. Please only put two men on Zaha. Thanks.

Yes please. Although, i'd just love to see Spanish Dave start, play a blinder, and become an instant Albion legend! I'm convinced he's still gonna play a big part this season at some point, just my opinion mind.
