What will every one do tomorrow?

Enough is enough surely.

Will the school's open? Will the trains and buses run? Will life return to normal?

I have received an Email from the Canadian company I am supposed to be working for in London tomorrow, who have expressed concern re the distance I will have to travel, in what they describe as an 'unprecedented weather related event in the UK'. It is obvious they think I might take a tumble and sue them. They want be to postpone until end of month. We are getting a reputation of being a weak willed and extremely litigious band of islanders.

Tomorrow should be a normal day whatever the weather leave earlier wrap up warmer etc.

Hopefully going to work but will need to check what timetable SR are running (normal Sunday one today as all engineering work cancelled).

Snowing here already, meant to be getting worse throughout the day.
Looks like I'm going nowhere tomorrow, although discovering how it feels to be a benefit-er, watching Jeremy Kyle and staying in bed 'til 11, I'm almost debating it as an occupation.
Would probably earn more money as well :shootself

Why leave earlier if you don't get paid travel time?... I will leave at my normal time and if I'm late then so be it...

You don't get to leave work early so you get home in time for tea do you?...

I'll set the alarm clock for 4:15am as usual, then see if the roads are in a suitable state for safe driving.

If I fell over on my walk to the station to go to work could I take employer to court ?

Didn't even cross my mind this could be done.

If they insisted you went in after you had raised a concern you might have a case.

I have a previous Email from this company instructing me to be in an office in London at 9am 11th Jan.

Not that it would cross my mind to sue them if I did go over. But a good lawyer could argue they had been negligent in not taking the weather conditions into consideration.Which of course now they have.

I don't think you would have a case - I think they were just being considerate in view of the weather.

You cant sue someone because they asked you to be somewhere at a certain time snow or no snow. You could sue the person in charge of the pavement if they had been negligent though

If the postman slips up on your drive or doorstep can he sue you?

After all you do insist he delivers your mail?

If you have a specific contract with him stating he delivers whatever the conditions, although that would be unlikely.
