Thin Lizzy - Live and Dangerous. Got me into heavy/hard/rock/metal whatever.

Great call. Still probably my all time fave album and tuned me into rock and particularly the twin guitars of Iron Maiden. Whilst ever so commercial Richie Blackmore's echoey solo on The Eyes of The World from the Rainbow album Down To Earth was a head turner in terms of guitar tone.

Before the rock passion it was The Stranglers all the way up until The Raven album and then they went too arty farty

Selling England by the pound

Catch a Fire -Bob Marley -Reggae
Sweethearts of the Rodeo -The Byrds -Country Rock
Piper at the Gates of Dawn - Pink Floyd - Psychedelic Rock
Liege and Lief- Fairport Convention - Folk
Surrealistic Pillow -Jefferson Airplane - West Coast music.

Most of these are on my list too although I'd have LA Woman from the Doors because it reminds of late nights in the Cottage and would add The Turning Point from John Mayall OBE. Coincidentally I was listening to Liege and Lief in the car today.

An unlikely contender but here goes,

Old, New, Borrowed & Blue by Slade.

My first grown up album. Just checked on Wiki, 1974, wow!

How could I have forgotten

Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited - the first time I actually GOT Robert Zimmerman.

My love for Dylan's music knows no bounds!

That was my first album too! A fantastic band of very good musicians - I was learning to play violin at the time and Jimmy Lea showed me it wasn't all about school orchestras - you could rock out with a chunk of wood under your chin or behind your back.
