My Dad was a timber merchant and then joiner, but I ticked carpenter as it involves working with wood.

Any chippys out there will understand the differences (carpenters work on site, joiners work inside a fixed workshop) which is quite important to them.

My Dad was a chippy - whilst he did some cabinet making, he was a Joiner at Beeves on Shoreham Beach and a Shutterer on the roads - including Brighton Marina. He went on to be a Graphic Designer - However, he was shit at actually invoicing so was little more than a Graphic charity. When I was a baby he was a Bin Man and a Milk Man.
