In the loan window we got Mattock and Reyes to replace our full backs who were struggling which was great.

However bearing in mind we have 3 permanent fixtures on the teamsheet in Bridcutt, Navarro and Barnes who never even get subbed, there are only 3 places left in midfield/up front and we had CMS, Buckley, Noone, Lua Lua, Sparrow, Forster-Caskey, Vicente (when fit), Harley, Agdestein and Dicker (becoming fit for the run-in) all competing for them.

Vokes I can see because he's a different sort of player.

So Assulin and Razak, what was the point?

More options. A lot of the players you mentioned won't be up to Championship play-off standard. What if Razak and/or Assulin turned out to be quality players and had a massive effect on our performance, you wouldn't be questioning/criticising then would you.

I don't get Navarro. When we've got Bridcutt sitting as the holding Midfielder why do we keep playeding Navarro as well? I'd play a more creative player in there to give better options through the middle. Both the City lads look promising - I'd opt for Razak over Navarro all day long.

totally agree. Razak was declared supreme mustard and had an off game against cardiff and now out the squad......strange.

I find the Bridcutt/Navs combo odd. Navs does play further forward but he doesn't look anything like as comfortable making things happen as he does breaking up the oppo's moves. In saying that we've been on a decent run but maybe now it's time for a change?

With such a large squad, injuries apart, player selection depends upon whether you want to win the game, or focus on not losing it. Sadly we tend to go for the latter option.
