When I was 19 I learned to cook Cheese Pie to woo Mrs Crodo and she still goes mad for it now. Just cooked a big batch to freeze, what was the first thing you learned to cook?

Believe it or not, sponge cake when I was 7 or 8 (long story!)


My mum did win a prize with one of them though ...............................

As a kid at primary school and learnt from my Mum, I rustled up Victoria Sponges, Pineapple Upside Down Cakes, Chocolate Sponges, Golden Syrup Sponges and their like.

All helping to give me a lifelong sweet tooth.
