I noticed the stewards kept coming out and pulling pople over to the side last night for chats...any one know what they were about?

Mate of mine got pulled over for a chat by some stewards just for standing up and trying to sing in a block where no-one else was interested.

I saw one lad get pulled - he'd been banned from last season apparently??

He only looked about 12 & was faced with 35st of fat bastewards.

Probably took him into the nature reserve for a good shoe-ing

It is all down to the fact that the Albion's board have been taking some stick from the safety officers and Brighton Council regarding the fact that it is a ALL SEATER STADUIM and people are prone to stand ( I do so I am just to blame)

I also heard a whisper that an officer in the council mentioned that they would ask the Albion to close a section of the ground if it didn't inprove!

Every male person who entered through that gate got the full search-hands up and down the legs, arms out and body frisked Pockets checked, bags searched as if it was an airport...frigging 'ell!

What the f**k was he on?

I was outside talking to people for 10 minutes and we were watching him 'cos it was so funny. Apparrently, he'd been searching everybody like that since the gates opened.

I got figorously frisked in the ground and told to 'keep moving' while merely walking to my seat. Must be the jarvis cocker esque glasses that make me look a threat...

It's an old saying, but the stewards are only doing their job.

This season the FA are coming down like the proverbial ton of bricks on clubs when it comes to fans standing. New measures imposed mean they can now reduce the capacity of grounds that see persistent offending. That also goes for teams' away following. There are inspectors at every game monitoring the situation.

For example, if West Ham fans consistently ignore requests to remain seated the FA can not only close parts of Upton Park, but they can reduce their away allocation. For us that would mean lost revenue because even if West Ham were only allowed 400 tickets for their game at Withdean BHA would more than likely give them the whole away stand, a la Cardiff at home a couple of seasons ago.

Of course, it's total shite, and particularly harsh for us with the already obvious problems with creating an atmosphere, but before you start calling the stewards Nazis etc think - if they chose not to do what they're told the club will end up far worse off.

I for one will be happy when Falmer gets the nod. If for no other reason than the HIGHLY witty chaps in J block that sing stand up if you want Falmer because a Steward asks them to sit down.

Does anybody know why they are clamping down on this? There hasn't suddenly been an upsurge in violence in the grounds, and no matter what anybody tries to tell you, it's NOT a safety issue.

I think the FA ought to get it's own house in order before it starts pontificating over things like this. It smacks of them being extremely bored to me....
