People YOUNGER than me come up to me when I am in an Albion shirt and say 'Why do you support such a shit team?'

I than reply with something like, 'Why not, they are my local team'

They then say 'You should support Manchester United'

About 10 little shits at Heathfield, younger than me have the nerve to say this, about 80% of them were Manchester United fans and the others were Chelsea, Arsenal etc.

It really gets on my tits.

It shouldn't get on your tits at all. Just explain that there is much more to being a real football fan that just watching the games on television.

When they are older they will REGRET not popping down the road to watch a football league game. Their loss, they are fools.

At least you will be able to say that you followed the Albion throught thick and thin, when we hit the big time again, nobody can accuse you of being a glory hunter or jumping on the nearest band-wagon. Believe me, over 30 years following the Albion, plenty of stick but a great deal to make me proud of and respect from genuine fans.

If there were 10 little shits and 80% of them were Manchester United fans, the others were Chelsea and Arsenal, there can be no ETC. You have accounted for all of them.

Just goes to prove that you don't need to be good at Maths to be a Brighton fan, or so I told both of the three people I was chatting with earlier on.

Pimps wear Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper shirts now?

I think that maybe, just maybe, people are slating you because you are you, not because you are a Brighton fan.

Standing in a packed pub, watching the Sweden game, & having 3 middle aged people siddeling in behind us, with no knowledge of football.
These really were the worst cases I've ever had the miss fortune to evesdrop.

"They've got quite a lot of posession so that means they will win"
"1/2 time is half an hour"
The Owen knee job, in slow motion "send him off, clearly a foul". To the Sedish player in the foreground. etc etc.

Not to mention every little rule of the game was querried by 1 & answered wrong by the other 2.

HOW CAN YOU BE ON THE PLANET, FOR 40-50 YEARS, GAIN NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE BEAUTIFUL GAME, & STILL DECIDE YOU WANT TO WATCH THAT MATCH, STOOD BEHIND ME. :censored:
