I think you'll find most pubs near to the station on matchday will be very busy. Popular ones include the Battle of Trafalgar, the Lord Nelson and the Evening Star.

Leeds - but not the dirty bit
Am travelling via Lewes and long time since been there, so any pub recommendations for a quick drink near the station ?

I will be starting in the Tally Ho then Lewes arms and The Landsdown before boarding the train! Landsdown could be very busy as it's the nearest pub to the station!

Wonder if the Royal Oak will be easier to get a drink in (further up the hill). I walked passed the Lansdown before Spurs and it was really busy so carried on and met my mates in the Kings Head. Only about a dozen people in there so got a couple of quick pints in before getting on the train.

Quite a few in the Elephant too. It took 5 minutes from there to the station.

I deliberately didn't mention The Oak because they don't sell Harvey's.. Not my tipple so doesn't affect me... But yes, it is worth a visit if you want a quieter drink. Saying that it could be busier on matchdays now.. If Lewes are playing at home that is where many of their fans go before the game... I will poke my nose in the door and have one there if it looks crowded outside The Landsdown!
