Saw this in the paper today;

According to the aptly named Frances Crook, head of the Howard League for Penal Reform, people who break the law should no longer be branded offenders. She says "Someone who commits an offence is not an offender, they are somebody who has done something".

The fact she is in the Howard League for penal Reform you have to expect this sort of rubbish,it gives them space in our newspapers,if we ignore them they will eventually go away and join another group, for instance the Modern Art Clowns.

What's wrong with that?

She was being interviewed on Radio 4 this morning and actually what she said is that an offender should not be called an offender AFTER they have left prison. The reason being that it would affect their chances of reintergrating back into normal employment, friendships etc and are more likely to reoffend if they are still labelled as an offender.

I can see her point, her remarks have quite clearly been taken out of context in order for people to wave the 'PC gone mad flag'.
