to be honest they have a point.

Other than white water rafting, who else in the entertainments industry would subject their customers to the conditions they had to put up with yesterday?

Now the Falmer battles have been won (haven't they?) perhaps the club should put some energy in trying to improve the conditions at Withdean.

We're getting SLATED on the EnglandFans forum too by a number of fans, apparently we shoud be on a transfer embargo until we spend money on upgrading Withdean to have roofs as its a Health and Safety hazard to sit in the rain for that long without a roof.....

because we are the only club with stands that are uncovered? :shootself

Withdean Stadium in inadequate football ground shocker! Hardly a new gripe is it.

They all moan about spending £20 for our shit facilities and crap view.

I spend at least £400 for the same privilege (probably with less chance of seeing a win too), so they can all ram it, as far as I'm concerned.

What a bunch of whining south london poofters...

A bit of rain will have done them good, most of them need a bloody good wash anyway

Wet

Postby BigD on Sun Nov 02, 2008 9:57 am
Just how wet can you get watching a game of football?

I swear to you we could not have got any wetter if we had watched yesterdays game in a freezing cold power shower.

I have been soaked before (Gillingham away springs to mind) but this was something beyond soaking. There was not one part on me that wsn't soaked including puddles in all my pockets, my wallet and tickets/money etc within dripping wet, something akin to the river thames running down my back, down my legs and filling up my boots.

I thought I would never be dry ever again. I couldn't see f*** all (which is not that strange at the Withdan) but my glasses were constantly full of torrential rain drops making it impossible for me to see further than about four yards.

The walk back to the car was diabolical, my clothes must've weighed about 50lb then having to sit in my freezing cold, soaking wet clobber for the hour and a bit drive back home almost finished me off.

exactly

right this may as well go out to all visiting away fans - I'll use words like Withdean , Withdean Stadium , Tongdean Lane , Shithole , Brighton & Hove Albion so when possible visiting fans type this into google it'll take them to this thread

if you are coming - this " ground" (refurblished athletic track at best) is shit , bring warm clothes and binoculars , and no I'm not kidding

if you have just been - don't say I didn't warn you , now enjoy your nice little grounds (or if you happen to be a Luton fan -) and know that we have to put up with that every single week - HENCE why we called upon you guys to help us get a new stadium and we promise you that when we get it you lot can have a roof above your heads

thank you please :)

Why? Total and utter waste of money for almost no reason at all.

almost no reason??? - how many small kids and mums are put off going by the dreadful conditions at Withdean? how many pensioners don't go because of the cold/wet weather? how many away fans won't come back? how many ticket sales do we lose when it's raining on a Saturday morning.

let's face it, we have a pampered society and many stay at home/in pub watching Sky Sports on a wet day.

This is 2008, not 1928!

Oh the bum boys have seen off the mighty hard 'wall' done over by a bit of rain, bring on the northerners with their soft southern poof mentality, see if they can hack the Dean in a monsoon.

As a former resident of SE16, I can only comment that there is one place WETTER than Withdean and that is Rotherhithe station on the East London line.

But even there, they have finally got round to spending some serious money on improving things. Mind you ... it's taken 140 years. So they'll just have to be patient about Withdean.

Perhaps we should point the Millwall in the direction of certain members
of the LDC, MP for Lewes and Falmer Parish Counc., since it that bunch of
toss*rs that has caused us to sit in the rain for ten years more than we 'effin need to. And if the Milwall need any help with that lot I'll happily help!

Because of course the council would give the planning permission for that
