Walked by Abercrombie and Fitch on 5th Ave in Manhattan at 6pm on Fri evening. At least 30 people lining up in the drizzle to enter the shop. They appeared to letting one in for every one that left. Have noticed the same thing at the same store before.

Let me ask the great NSC public a question. Exactly what kind of people actually LINE UP to get into a shop? Line up to be allowed in so that they can take your hard-earned money?? Line up because it's such a fecking fantastic shop that you've actually got nothing better to do on a Friday evening?? Line up because you love shopping so much it's taken over your entire life??

I have rarely seen anything as pathetic in my entire life.

You never saw the queue for the opening of the Apple store in Churchill Square then?

I saw three people waiting outside a WHSmiths for it to open this morning, and about 25 outside a Morrisons. I did it once outside a Waitrose, knowing it to open within 5 minutes on a sunny Sunday morning once, but i couldn't live with doing the same with a Morrisons. I went in one the other week and found they had very shouty self-service tills, obviously built to direct their mostly OAP users.

I fancied getting one of those Hollister seagull polo shirts - at least I did until I saw the size of the queue outside the store in the Westfield Centre. No polo shirt is worth waiting in line for 30 to 45 minutes.

Thanks Greens :(
I must admit to queueing outside a local independent record shop yesterday morning for a couple of hours, for Record Store Day, but did come away with some EXTREMELY nice vinyl

There is always a queue for the one in London, was going to go in there a few weeks ago but turned on my heels when I saw the wait. And, however said it is NOW a but gay must have had their head burried in the sand for the last decade.

I was also at Tesco last Sunday, not only was there a huge amount of people waiting but as the shutters went up people were stooping, ducking and gliding underneath them like India Jones to get in first, now THAT is dedication.

So the blokes staring at me weren't admiring my vintage Hawaiian print A+F t-shirt while I was walking up St. Jame's Street last summer after all

Aye was the same when I walked past it in Westfields. Went in the one in Meadowhall (needless to say I didn't queue up!) and the clothes are shit. And it's dark in there. And it's expensive.
