La La Land from January held the title for the year. That was an absolute joy to me. Nothing beat it

With that intensity of viewing, I’ll happily have a look at your top three. Cheers

The first two are quality in any circumstances at all - just brilliant stories very well told.

Happy Death Day is a bit different in that it's a bit cheesy and fun, but it's a good story with twists and turns, humour and drama.

My full list is here; http://www.imdb.com/list/ls066826162/. Odeon Limitless card has been well and truly worn out.

Playing snooker
Paddington 2.

Hugh Grant deserves the plaudits for dutifully playing a beautifully hammed-up parody of himself. Lovely stuff.

You too US, otherwise I wouldn't challenge you so often.

Ready Player One is going to be fantastic, the trailer is sublime.

Trailer is ok but Spielberg will knock this one out of the park. He should do a Star Wars film. That is made for him. The Post has had good reviews

Grant made this film for me. He was just excellent. He came good last year with Florence Foster Jenkins a really wonderful performance

I really didn't get La La Land. Only fallen asleep in a cinema once before and that was South Pacific ( gives you an idea how old I am) very nearly nodded off during La La land.

My pleasant surprise of the year was Wonder Woman. Just lost out on a top 10 with 80 out of 100. Far better than anyone reasonably had a right to expect and Gal Gadot, what a new star !
