10 000 000 people in the UK have high blood pressure, 80% of them do not even know about it. Its called the silent killer and is pretty much symptomless.

What is your latest BP reading ???

I am what is called

" A Borderline Case "

145/90

120/70 two minutes ago.

We have one of those home test kit things, not sure how reliable it is but through my pregnancy and stuff it was never higher than 130/80.

My readings were borderline 9 years ago from a medical for a job at 150/95 over the period it went to 170/100 but a lot was down to stress. It seems to hover around the borderline 145-150/85-92. Need to keep an eye on it

Lack of exercise and fags are the worst, I think

Which is why I take my own for a week or so before any appointment and give them my readings as I know it is v.high in the surgery. However, my specialist said that the quoted normal 120/80 does take into account the white coat effect, although obviously it varies from person to person.
