What Is The Greatest FUNNY Show Of Recent Years?

Dad's Army and shows of that ilk tend to be very "gentle " humour....most of the Perry and Croft stuff...allo allo etc, - all inuendo's however I find modern humour tends to rely on profanity and how many times you can slip the F word in.

I am not saying that there is anything wrong with that, but trying to compare these shows to say The Mighty Boosh, or League of Gentlemen, is like trying to compare The Bill to Life on mars. Its the same genre but completely different styles

When I was growing up, Till Death Us Do part and Love Thy Neighbour were the most popular shows around.....I am not sure its because it was seen at that time as racist, more something to laugh at, rather than thinking about it...Charlie Williams was one of the funniest comedians I have ever seen live, but his ilk no longer exist...

Err no I think you'll find that honour goes to either Blackadder, Dad's Army or Only Fools and Horses.

Funniest thing in this thread by a long shot.

I don't think Blackadder counts as recent, but it is BRILLIANT:bowdown:

Agreed.

My personal favourite is the last episode of Series 2, where Blackadder is trying to understand the mime for "You are a bastard son of a bitch", while trapped in a box.
