f***ing disgrace. I would love a copy of the referee's report as to how he can warrant being such an incompetent :tosser:

Ruined the Xmas fixtures with bans, we also have 3 players on the pitch one yellow away from a ban

Have you seen the decisions - they sound bad, but impossible to judge without seeing them.

Irrespective of either sending off, when a team's defender wellies the ball towards his own goal and the ref gives a goal kick, you have to question the officials.

Really? From WSU it looked like the Burnley player went in 2 footed. Guess that the highlights tonight will be interesting.

IMO - both sendings off correct - vincelot punched the burnely player - idiot. barnes tackle high and appeared to stamp or kick out at burnely player - moronic give what had just happened. Massive deflection of our player for goal kick. Not a burnely fan and called the ref a **** with everyone else - but think he might have got it right - I await to be proved wrong on the TV footage.

f*** me though wouldnt want to do the refs job.....

Great atmos great game - see what we can do at the amex!!!!

Seen it on TV as well as being at the game, felt both players went in over the top, and the Burnbely player then shoved Ashley. Yellow for Ashley for challenge, red for Burnely player challenge plus raised hands at opponent.

Personally, I think the ref wanted Xmas and New Year's off with no football. I think he has got his wish!:tosser:

I've seen the replays in the media area, slow-mo, backwards, close-up, from our angles.

Vincelot has no exuse, end of. I'd complain to the club about him rather than the FA - the fourth oificial saw it and informed the ref. No problems with that.

The second is far less clear-cut. McCann went in two-footed and low. Barnes either went in high over the top OR was trying to vault the McCann challenge and landed on him - only Barnes knows his intent. If the ref saw it as a stamp, then you could justify his decision to show red. I might not argue that, but I think Albion could have grounds for an appeal. But how McCann got away with his challenge, which deserved yellow or arguably red, and then his laying hands on Barnes (not technically raising his hands, as Barnes was on the ground), which was certainly violent conduct, I don't know. What is certain is that McCann then got in the ref's face, urging him to send Barnes off.

Oh, and it looked a cert penalty for the foul on Noone.

As I saw it from the West lower, Vincelot did partially 'punch' their no. 20 in the back for a challenge he didn't like - but then their guy also 'punched' Vincelot back. But when I say punch, it was more like jostling and not with any strength and the incident was IMHO 6 of one and half a dozen of the other. I actually chuckled and mentioned it to my family as they had missed it. I was just saying it was just 'handbags' from both players when suddenly the 4th Official got a rush of blood to the head about it. Lino disagreed I think?

It seemed to me then that the Burnley bench influenced the 4th Official and that was that.

A good ref would have spoken to both players and issued 2 yellow cards, that early in the game, to stamp his authority on the match. But this ref was dire.

As for the Barnes sending off, we were among those cheering because we were convinced the Burnley player was going.
