I just grabbed a can thinking I was going to get stuck into some 'Baxter's Highland Game' action but in my drunked stupour I appear to have 'essential Waitrose vegetable soup' ..... and it's not bad ................ not that I really care.

Those newish tube soups are pretty good, especially the vegetable ones.

Can you still buy Chef Square-Shaped Soups? I used to like their chicken noodle. In the 1970s. The chicken bits were like plumped up lumps of fuzzy felt. I'd go for a fresh soup these days.

I have found very few branded tins of soup that will compete with Heinz Farmers Market Three Bean & Pepper Soup

much as i cannot stand people posting - thread closed - or - end of thread - this is tempting. heinz oxtail. best tinned soup ever. now you can go really posh and have cream of tomato as well as a starter, but oxtail is the kiddie.

Heinz Tomato Soup.

Which incidentally is a fantastic hangover cure, something to do with the potassium I'm told.

I am having some in about 20 minutes.

Many moons ago I used to frequent a wine bar in Epsom that served excellent food. They would sell Heinz cream of tomato soup and describe it as such on the menu. The chef said that she couldn't improve on it, so why try. It was a best seller.
