At present it's this, the perfect end to a practically perfect album (and one which I think, has just knocked it's sister album 'The Wall' off of my favourite album list for the first time in about twenty-five years ). Especially love the little rearrangements of 'See Emily Play' at the end :
It's all a matter (of the best possible taste)...we all have different taste,what a youngster likes an oldie like me will not...not everyone will agree with my choice of Bohemian Rhapsody or Scott Walkers 'Lights of Cinnatti' but each to their own.
Springsteen singing 'The Promise', live in NYC circa 2000, in probably its only outing until the release of 'The Promise', the 'Darkness on the Edge of Town' outtakes album, in 2010, hence the noticeable slump in audience recognition after the first couple of notes on the piano, AND which includes a line which for me sums up what 'it's' all about, 'Every day it gets harder to live, this dream I'm believin' in...'
