It says he was frustrated. What, you want him to lose the plot at the officials and get a touchline ban? IMO he did the right thing and took himself out of a situation that could have boiled over.

Gus had had enough of the time wasting and unsporting conduct from the Burnley players and the inaction of the ref to make a decision in our favour. Walking down the tunnel meant avoiding a £50,000 fine and a touchline ban.

Are you f***ing serious? What do you do for a living?
I am really pissed off after today, purely and simply because today was a golden opportunity missed!! I don't give a flying f*** whether we deserve it or not, all I know is we are in with a shout. I only listened to it on the radio whilst clearing out my garage and I want to knock someone out, imagine how Gus feels!!

It was a surprise. He walked down the touchline, stood in front of the away support, waved, blew some very strange kisses, we sang his name - and he walked towards the tunnel.

I could understand it - Burnley were so cynical, the ref was hopeless and the last thing Gus would have wanted to see was Howe's smug mug.

But, Gus old son - that is what is what you have to deal with.

Yes, spot on....if you were at the game with a couple of minutes of normal time left, a Burnley player rolling around play acting within a metre of the touchline and the ref doing absolutely nothing, you could have joined me wanting to thump someone.
Frankly Gus did the right thing.

More acceptable than having a go at officials and causing problems with the opposition manager.

....and getting a ban for a whole match, when we are on a possible playoff run-in.
That's most likely all that could have been achieved at that stage of the game.
Oh, and as mentioned above by someone, he would have been expected to shake the opposing manager's hand in front of everyone including his players....and it sounds as if Burnley created a debacle instead of a spectacle.
