Annuals are still around. My son got 2006 Beano in his stocking.

I miss snow as well. I swear when I was little we always had the white stuff at Christmas time.

My idea of Christmas seems permanently fixed in the early70s,

Some of the tacky 70s Christmas adverts
- Cointreau
- Denim after shave; 'Santa's coming with Denim!'

Buying a pre-ordered turkey from Coe's in George Street on Christmas Eve

January sales starting in January

A ghost story on Christmas eve on BBC2

A packed Goldstone on Boxing Day

Being allowed 1 glass of Sanatogen 'tonic' wine on Christmas Eve

Watching original television, rather than compilations of "great Christmas TV of the past".

Amen to that. What a pile of shite there has been on so far.

Huge crowds on Boxing Day at The Golstone (RIP).

My first Goldstone Boxing Day was against Bournemouth in 1971.
Average crowd so far that season had been, 15,000 but over 30,000 paid at the turnstiles for the Boxing Day game. It was the day that I became irretrievably hooked.
