Where's the option for "mainly English but partly not" (and I'm not telling you which part).

generally British, since theres a fair bit of welsh (two generations ago) on one side and the other side has a scottish rooted name.

Well it depends on circumstances. I consider myself an unique individual, and a man of the world formed by marvellous nature. There's not one other person exactly alike the other, and every man, or woman, IS an island.

I am from Hove and Brighton. I am not simply English like that palace supporter or that leeds fan, I am from Hove, and Brighton. I am not affiliated with any group either, no skinheads, politicians, hippies, or anything like that. I vote how I want to dependent on the current party and leader.

I am from Sussex, by the sea. I know the stones fill the beach, mud and gorse lines the riverbanks, and the ozone is enhanced with English Channeled air. I am from England (especially conscious when England play in the football or any other sport).
I am British, and when Andy murray declines to exhibit British representation I decline to take interest in him winning anything. When the Olympics are on, I am British and want the Brits to win medals.
I am European. When I think about culture in history, I am mostly aware of modern European culture. I am not South American, Chinese, Arabic, Eskimo or Aborigine. When I mix with other cultures, I am proud to be European enjoying other cultures and friends from those cultures.
After any walls that might exist are all broken down, I am not a foreigner in their midst, I am one of them, a human and a man of the World with my own circumstances, and sharing my own world with them.

Despite the fact I'm only a quarter English I was born in England and both my parents were born in England so I consider myself 100% English. I'm British during the Olympics and European only durng the Ryder Cup.

Years ago I used to call myself 'European' and I sneered at all those who regressivley stuck to old nationalistic labels (Irish, Scottish, etc). But now I'm a born-again English Nationalist I sympathise. It's great, it means I support Sinn Fein, the SNP and Plaid Cymru!

FFS it doesn't require a 1000 word essay, you are British, and thats it. Be proud and don't try and dilute it.
