i don't usually bite, but f*** RIGHT off, dick head.

The game was f***ing BRILLIANT, however I started this thread shortly after Liverpool took the lead and it appeared to be game over.

I was moaning about ITV, not the football. ****. :tosser:

Haha, I wondered if it was just me being neurotic, but no, Tyldesley did manage to crowbar in (aided by the limp lettuce Jim Beglin) approximately 642 references to either "Istanbul" or "that magical night". Or Steven Gerrard.

Exactly my point, why were you moaning about anything. I'd hate to sit next to you at Withdean.

For the reason there are others moaning on this thread. ITV harping on about 2005 in every Liverpool game, and 99 in every Man U game NARKS me off.

Perfectly valid point, made before tonights game 'took off'.

And I am NOTHING like some of the moaners at Withdean, whatever you might read on here.

The scum's lucky victory in Istanbul was mentioned probably 60 times during the match.

Can't stand Tyldesley, tries far too hard to come across like he's your average bloke in the pub.

Clive: I don't want to hear your wittiness or matey banter, I just want to know what's going on in the game.

Tool.

I especially dislike it when he tries to sound poetic

What really Irks me about Tyldesley, (who was never as good since big ron went all racist) is his constant reference to the "script" of a game. f***ing Twat

Or ask dramatic, rhetorical questions, like

"Ooooh...look out...it couldn't be....could it?"

Not sure if it should be used in his defence, but his career probably peaked with a line like "can Manchester United score? they always score", seconds before a 90th minute equaliser in a European Cup final. He's probably trying to outdo that, but unfortunately just sounds like a tit.

Tonight was magnificant for English football. 4-4 in a Champions League 1/4 final. As much as the result didnt bother me, I would have liked Liverpool to win, as I cant stand Chelsea and its plastic following. Liverpool has more history, more passion, and more pride. Chelsea has players who are dick heads, fans who are dick heads, and an owner who is a dickhead (and Russian).

Good game, but wished Liverpool had won. Just hope Chelsea get knocked out in the Semis, wiope that smile off JT's face.:tosser:

This is the thing, isn't it? He's continuously looking for that "They think it's all over..." moment, the career-defining phrase that pays, when he should be concentrating on keeping it simple and telling it straight.

The best commentators and presenters are the ones who keep it on the level and don't try to be smart all the time. And act naturally, rather than trying to be something they're not.

It's why Gary Lineker is so excruciating on MOTD, whereas Adrian Chiles on MOTD 2 has it about right.
