What did you take home from The Goldstone ?

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
I took some turf from the York game. :D

Didn't get anything from the last game. I stood outside for the entire game in the rain, as I didn't have a ticket. I was meant to be playing cricket at school, but it got rained off.
I couldn't afford the tout price of £90  :censored:

Is it still growing Hiney?

All I have is memories, when we played that last game I was thousands of miles away in Canada.

The corner quietly rusting
The Football league sign my seat on the day and as they were shutting the ground I took an entire roll of turf its spread all over the place.

I left the young people to collect bits and pieces.

Here's the teaboy netting some string:-

And we've got various bits of advertising hoarding, a seat from the West Stand and a cashbox from the South Stand turnstile.

My eldest lad climbed up the southeast floodlight gantry to retrieve just about everything that was removable - and then gave it all away.

I took a nice bit of turf that I put in a plant pot and looked after it. I read about a groundsman at a football club (it was possible a load of bollocks) getting the players after a training session to piss into a bucket that he would later pour onto the pitch. The ammonia was supposed to turn the grass a deep green colour. Anyway, I pissed into my pot and the grass died a couple of days later. There it remained almost dead for a about a year until my old man chucked it away during a bout of gardening:dunce:

I took a piece of turf. Its now in my back garden in Wetherby. If I ever move, I know precisely where it is and I will take it with me.
