FLAIR is a word used a lot on here to describe players, but what is it that qualifies you to become a flair player?? What makes them make that jump from just the everyday pro footballer, to a cult hero with FLAIR status

It a difficult thing to define. Darren Freeman had long hair and coloured boots but was possibly the least flair player in history. Zamora was brilliant, but definitely NOT flair - he committed the cardinal 'flair sin' of doing things with the MINIMUM of fuss.

Darren Currie; hair, step-overs, free kicks
Frank Worthington; hair, skills, reputation as 'swordsman'

Pretty boy players who perform when the sunshines and disappear when the going gets tough, like a bit of eye make up and a gang bang on a Saturday night. Don't confuse flair with sublime skill. Bergkamp, Giggs = sublime, Leon Knight, CKR and Craig Bellamy Flair. Flair = sulky and lazy, Sublime = hard work and a love of the game.
