Our decorations go up on Christmas Eve. It's a tinsel-free zone round here although we did invest in a small but splendidly OTT fibre-optic tree last year. However, I do like my Christmas decorations to have a slightly sinister tone to them.

The same ones as we used and brought from our last pub 4 years ago. Her indoors pits them away each year with the Christmas cards that are reduced in January then will get them allout tomorrow put the decs up and write and post Christmas cards.

They are not brilliant but are still 100 times better than the rubbish that Haywards Heath have put up in South Street again this year. They are abysmal.

We have a fully-decorated tree and various other ornaments dotted about the place (when I was a kid, we used to have those ones you hang on the ceiling, but my parents stopped when it got to the stage where I couldn't walk across a room without knocking most of them down).

Ours went up right at the start of December because it's always been something of a tradition for us that they're up by the time of my brother's birthday (December 4th). He's 20 now, and so is not really that fussed either way, but even so...

NONE, one because I hate C*ristmas. Two, because I am going to Barcelona for a week on 26th!!

Christmas tree with its own lights, reefs, including some great multi coloured ball types from ikea, a curtain of lights, for the first time paper chains and balls.

We are searching for the classic paper chinese lantern - any tips out there?

Nothing as yet! I'm being a bit bah humbug as I always decorate it, water it, get in trouble when I forget to water it and it drops needles everywhere, then undecorate it and then lug it to the tip and then I have to hoover up! I'M ON STRIKE THIS YEAR

Why does everybody put the decs up so early nowadays?

Makes me bored to death of the whole bloody thing by the time it actually arrives! My shop ones only got put up last week and that was against my better judgement.

You lot are clearly all CHAVS! :salute:

nothing up yet. the children have been bugging me every day since they finished school to go and chop down the christmas trees for indoors but i am putting them off until i have someone who can supervise the holy terror.

we will have a few trees indoors with all the usual stuff on them. mostly decorations made by the kids over the years out of salt dough or something. we don't do tinsel as the dog eats it. being outnumbered by girls here there will no doubt be lots of sparkly, twinkly things.

i will be putting up some outdoor stuff on the trees in the back as well as building a landing strip for the sleigh and things. again. this will happen when someone can supervise the holy terror.
