I’ve just finished The Power of the Dog by Don Winslow.

Cracking book about the narco wars of the 70s-80s, including CIA involvement in political assassinations, corruption etc.

I’m going to start the sequel, The Cartel now.

I’m halfway through The Power of the Dog. Really enjoying it. First book of a trilogy.
Hoping The Cartel and The Border keep to the same standard.

Same. Gawd bless ya Amazon Prime! About 2 short chapters in, will report back in due course. Initial premise promisingly set tho. Not too earlydoors to state definitively that the graphic designer has played a blinder there Jeff

They are.
I finally finished The Border over lockdown, but , I had started it this time last year. I had an operation that had some quite uncomfortable side effects and I started having nightmares about the book, so, I stopped reading it, and read books not as hard hitting.

Bargain from Kindle - got all three books for something like £4 in total so thought “why not?”. Enjoyed the first book but it doesn’t stand alone; books 1 & 2 appear to be one bloody long book conveniently sliced in the middle....

Just read The Midnight Library by Matt Haig, which was excellent, the first book I’ve read in a long time that I just couldn’t put down. I would thoroughly recommend it.
