O.K. Everyone is in uproar over nme's top indie anthems list.

So, in order to find the true top ten I've decided to start this thread. All you've got to do is nominate your top ten indie anthems. Simple.

If you wish to change one after having nominated...no promlemo, just add a post saying which one you've changed.

By the end of the day we should have the DEFINITIVE top ten indie anthems.

Go...!

Mine in no particular order(and off the top of my head) are...

Oasis-Live forever
The manics-motorcycle emptiness
The La's-there she goes
Radiohead-Karma police
Ash-goldfinger
The Charlatans-one to another
The Stone Roses-I wanna be adored
Nirvana- smells like teen spirit
Supergrass-caught by the fuzz
Pixies-is she weird

The thing with this is I'll do it, but if I did it again in a month's time half of them would have changed.

But hell, in no particular order;

Come Home - James
Boys Don't Cry - The Cure
This Charming Man - The Smiths
The Only One I Know - Charlatans
This is How it Feels - Inspiral carpets
Step On - Happy Mondays
Groovy Train - The Farm
I am the Ressurection - Stone Roses
In Between Days - The Cure
William it was really nothing - The Smiths

I think your own personal list probaably says more about your age, and where your were in a particular era, than it does about the particular merits of the music.

I'm not actually saying that The Charlatans are better than the Artic Monkeys, or that The Cure are better than the Kaiser Chiefs, but as 'Indie Anthems' these songs are much more important to ME.
