Hello Little Al,

Ah lovely, lovely Dyce, I am always pissed off to arrive there on a plane (cos I'm going to be going offshore) and happy to arrive there on a chopper (cos I'm back from being offshore).

Not a lot at Dyce except the Airport & Industrial Estates is there - are you associated with the airport or an offshore company by any chance?

Lived in Aberdeen 1991-92 and didnt enjoy the place too much, don't mind going through it now as it means I'm in transit to/from a well paid project!

I work for Schlumberger but not offshore. You must let me know when you are in town for a beer as well (obvs on the homeward trip :))

Will do so - I did some work surveying a Schlumberger Property around November 1992 on the Shetlands - what a place, sleet coming in horizontal all day & around 4 hours daylight - no wonder half of the Islanders are alcoholics!

TREACHEROUS
After a mild thaw this afternoon, sub-zero temps this evening have turned roads into sheets of glass here in north Essex. No sign of any gritters whatsoever.

Just back from a crash where a woman had skidded on black ice, left the road, hit a tree and overturned. Whilst we were getting her out of her car a further 3 vehicles either hit vehicles the back of the queue or skidded and left the road.

It's like human pinball out there tonight.

It is seriously DJ Lethal in BN1, black ice on the roads and almost all pavements still like ice rinks. If you're walking anywhere you either take your chances in the road on the black ice or on pavements sheeted with ice. Good job Brighton Council.

It was NOT like that the day before yesterday Douglas - My route down Homefield Road, then Blatchington Hill then along the road whose name I can never remember but has Elm Court (RIP) and the Gas Works (RIP) on it was ice all the way. Had Torville and Dean lived in Seaford they would have had a field day.
