I was bitching about the same thing last night.

In Wolverhampton, if there is a tiny threat to traffic flow (snow, ice, accident, traffic lights out, etc...) the council pull out all of the stops to ensure the traffic keeps moving. Yet they do nothing about the pavements. Third day of sheet ice on the pavements of Wolverhampton, but nobody cares, because the traffic is moving.

I once met a traffic person for the council and asked why there is so little of consideration of pedestrian needs in and around the City Centre... his answer, becasue it might slow down traffic.

Meantime, the A & E's are being overrun by people who've been sent SPRAWLING. Christ knows how the crustys are coping. I'm finding it hard enough getting out and about without doing the splits, let alone some poor old duffer who's on his fourth hip already.

Still, I expect there's a nice inflation-busting rise due in next years council tax to help plug their pensions black hole. Good work.

bloody ridicilous i may as well have skated to work today, they have gritted the road but appear to be trying to reduce the surplus population of the uk through killing us all off by death on icy pavements.

Snow everywhere but we didnt get the Heavy overnight snow in Glasgow that little Al got in Aberdeen. Like he said though everything is running normally.
The sun is shining brightly now so hopefully the rapid thaw can begin.

IOW ex Worthing
Redhill still very white, but has been sunny for a few hours so today. Off to Worthing tomorrow to see my friends and family for my birthday, so I've got my fingers crossed the weather will allow that to happen

I spent Xmas in Perth WA 3 years ago and it was 38 degrees then. It was really strange. I did feel for Santa though - he doesn't get a summer uniform! Still kitted up in the jacket and boots attire! Santa with BO! Ewww!

5 min walk from me on the same road, will have to meet for a beer in the Spiders or the Greentrees.

Hello Little Al,

Ah lovely, lovely Dyce, I am always pissed off to arrive there on a plane (cos I'm going to be going offshore) and happy to arrive there on a chopper (cos I'm back from being offshore).

Not a lot at Dyce except the Airport & Industrial Estates is there - are you associated with the airport or an offshore company by any chance?

Lived in Aberdeen 1991-92 and didnt enjoy the place too much, don't mind going through it now as it means I'm in transit to/from a well paid project!
