starry, i have heard from many sources that tony once UNLEASHED a 99mph shot

is this true? did it result in a goal?

It was measured by Leeds trainers/stats people, so yeah, if you trust them it's true.
It was not officially recognised because it was not taken by an independent person.

Nope, not a goal.

But he did score and they accepted another at 97.9mph.

It's on one of our season reviews about it.

And yes, we were at Selhurst Park, it was pretty amazing, even Carlton Palmer got on the score sheet that day. I sort of thinks his goal against Liverpool was better, but really his hat trick away at Monaco a few days before the Wimbledon game was something else. Sheer class!
