What a Sh** way to get relegated

Walsall down with a goal difference 1 worse than those lucky pikies of Gillingham

Having felt the pain of quite a few Albion relegations it was some comfort that we always finished with less points than the team above us.

I feel for Walsall, how depressing to fall out of Division One on the last day by so little? Just imagine how we would have felt last season if we'd gone down like that :(

thats football and goes to show goals count and managers that mess the team up sub plays off when 2-0 for example with 2 mins to go think again come end season may need a 3-0 win etc!!

Pedantic.

Hereford's goal difference was better than ours!

Walsall should not have got rid of Colin Lee. Or should not have got Paul Merson! That last one was a bad bet.

I remember the away game at the Bescott when we pissed on them but couldnt score then they tried to kick some trouble off at the train station. Tossers. Glad they went down by only 1 goal, its funnier.

Merson's thick as pigshite, it seems that having played for the Arse guarantees a management position these days - I hear Walsall are lining up Gus Caesar as his replacement.

As for Walsall fans, there was a lot of cameraderie between them and us during our dark days so you can't be too harsh on them.

We beat Hereford on goals scored. If it had been done on goal difference (which it has every season since then), we would have been relegated.

Not as bad as Grimsby's relegation - caused by Cheaterfield scoring in the 88th minute at home to Loo-town. If there's one team I'd like to have seen go down it was Chesterfield. And Pikies of course.

Agreed. I'm glad that they're down and the Gills have stayed up.
As for Hereford the FA had nicked points off us so we deserved to stay up.

i really wanted to see the pikeys relegated! jammy gits

Best news imho, because it re-inforces the need to make as many goals as possible, and right from the beginning of the season. The whole point of deciding league positions by gd and gs has been illustrated and rightfully.
They will probably examine refs and close decisions that went against them to allocate some blame - but it's their own fault and they are down.

I feel for Grimsby. One relegation is bad enough but to have successive relegations (and Nicky Law as manager  )

Would rather have seen Gillingham relegated especially after Paul Scally trying to start up Premiership2. Their time will come. As for Walsall, yes it is cruel but last time they went down they bounced straight back. Div 2 won't be stuffed full of strong teams next year so they (and us if we fail in the play-offs) will have a great chance of promotion next season

I'm with chips and gravy on this. I too remember the Walsall apes at the train station last year, but Scally the twat deserved relegation for his egotistical attempts at setting up Premiershite 2. Playing above their station, he clearly felt that it was necessary to quickly get in and shaft the clubs below them, in the hope that it would mean they couldn't drop back down to their natural level. f*** him.
