What a load of whingeing MOANERS!!

I bet no Swindon fan would want to get stuck in the LOUSY seats in block L2     I DEMAND a statement from Martin Perry. WHY HAS HE ONLY SOLD 20,000+ TICKETS TODAY? I BELIEVE THE LAZY SOD ONLY SOLD FOUR THOUSAND OF THEM AT HIS OWN TURNSTYLE. THE MAN'S A DISASTER :jester:

I'm sure Swindon fans would gladly swap places but that isn't the issue.

The issue is that many 'loyal customers' of the club were made to queue for six hours and ended up with 'inferior' tickets. There has to be some kind of recognition from the club that season ticket holders/regular fans should be treated differently from others because they generate revenue for the club week in week out. No other 'buisness' would treat its best customers that way.
We shouldn't get into attitude where we touch our forlock , doff our cap and say 'thankyou so much for letting me buy a ticket'.

We have to make it clear to the club that we are not just turnstile fodder who will put up with anything because we love the club. If they alienate us then they will end up alienating everyone.

I don't agree - I think that would just alienate those who would like to support the club at other times, but can't because of financial or other commitments. I admit that the ticketing arrangements sound very annoying for those who wanted the best seats, but I don’t think they should have been reserved for season ticket holders only.

It would be different if our ground could hold everyone who wanted to go, but it doesn’t, and there are many more than 6,700 Brighton fans in Sussex who deserve the opportunity as much as those who go every week.

It appears the only ones saying stop moaning are he ones who didn't have to queue for 7 hours and got their mates to get one. But hey ho thats life. Move on.

The club and the fans are both new to this selling 31000 tickets !. After all we haven't had to do it for 12 years.

The distribution was very slow, open to abuse and alienated season ticket holders but we'll forgive them.

99% of the time the management get it right. I don't think however NSC should become a forum for praising Albion and feeling worried to ever criticise in case Dick Knight or Martin Perry may get upset which it is in danger of becoming.

Dick and Martin are men of the people and let would like to be told by the paying people if they make mistakes to learn next time I am sure.

My flags are out of the windows in my house, a photo of Virgo celebrating the goal and a we want Falmer sticker is in the window.

Call my a prat, call me arrogant, call me opinionated but NEVER say I don't love this club and want the best for them and its supporters.'

No, we queued for 4 hours after getting up at 6.30 and driving 45 miles to make sure we got one. Big shock horror - the best tickets sell out first. That's never happened before has it?

As for selling to ST holders first, I agree that in principle they should have. But we have 5000 ST Holders and 30000 tickets. I couldn't have sat next to my Mum unless I waited. Families would have been split up. And non season ticket holders would have had to get time off work or make arrangements to get tickets on a weekday. If non season ticket holders couldn't have got tickets over the weekend, how many waiverers would have not bothered?

We are not the "big club" people like to think we are. We may just sell out our 31000 tickets but it stands to reason that well over 10000 of these (if not a lot more) will not have seen an Albion game for 7 or 8 years. If these people didn't come, we wouldn't sell out - FACT. The club went for the option that was likely to sell most tickets which, IMHO, is for the best as it will strengthen the Falmer case and bring in more revenue. How many people were coming out from Withdean with flags and shirts? Most people coming out had some kind of merchandising. A large percentage of these people have probably never been near the club shop in years.

I could understand all this moaning if you had turned up expecting it to be season ticket holders only and found other people there. But the arrangements have been available for over a week. You can't say you weren't warned.

great cornholio good point the club has to put its financial situation 1st which is to sell as many tickets as possible to who ever, and they must have made a killing on the merchandising yesterday

I think the club have done the best they could in the circumstances. If we had been selling tickets at Falmer with modern state of the art turnstiles and a damn sight more of them, the queues would have been far shorter and faster moving. The fact we queued for so long, 5 hours in my case, shows just how well supported the club is and makes the point of how badly we need Falmer.

I don;t agree.

Its should have been

Saturday - season tickets holders only - up to 4 per person
Sunday and rest of week - Everyone - up to 4 per person until all tickets sold

We have 8 potential selling days after all

It would also have staggered the selling and resulted in less queues and panic ( hands up ) allowing a smoother distribution.

What about the ST holders who had to work on Saturday or couldn't make it? How many posts would we have about how it isn't fair that 2 parents who are season ticket holders can't take there 3 kids who are not or some such other story?

At the end of the day, the club (along with most of the moaners it has to be said) misjudged the demand. The details were available for over a week so if you were that desperate for a good seat you would have got up early to make sure you got one.

I queued for 5 hours, and got a seat in M3 (right in the corner). I'm just very happy to have a ticket, and so should everyone else.

Well said.

There were loads of people buying merchandise in the club shop too which is why there were only 3 tills selling tickets.

It's the end of the season. How many people would have been going into the shop to buy anything let alone flags, Tshirts, car stickers all with Playoffs 2004 on them.

The extra revenue from this will help offset that tax bill that we were all concerned about a couple of weeks ago. Not fully I realise, but will help towards it.

If we had been told on Thursday morning that we were going to have this 'problem' we would have been delighted.

We are going to Cardiff, We are going to Cardiff la la la la

I agree; Season ticket holders should of been given some sort of priority. Other clubs selling tickets for the play offs have sold to season tickets holders first! After all they have got all our details on their files and could of sent tickets to the 5,500 holders via credit card postal applications , which would have gone some way to reducing the congestion for people queing.

Maybe the club should just hand the whole thing over to Ticketmaster in future and save themselves the grief

Not if what Palace fans had to go through to get tickets from what I have been told.
