But you see this is the whole argument about financing the club...I dont give a monkeys about West ham tickets or Gold memberships etc etc...i buy a ST to sit be mates, and take the hassle out of buying a ticket every week.....the club have my money from April 30th 2007......not relying on it in Aril 2008. Therefore I expect to see the best team we possibly have put out for my money...today we did not get that. What message does that send out to me today when my ST renewal dropped on my doorstep?

I see what you are saying, but we also have to think of next season as well. What if we dither about deciding who to offer contracts and they begin to look elsewhere and we do not get the sort of replacements we need. It doesn't bode well on the club to keep the door shut on a player, if they fall out of favour!

I don't know what ST has got to do with it. I yet again paid over the odds, compared to the STH, yet I am not going to get angry about it. I would be disappointed if we didn't give the players that are on the fringes, as fair crack of the whip, when mission is accomplished for the season. Look at Nathan Jones - he was deemed surplus to requirements around this sort of time (Early April) and not given a chance after that. He is currently sitting above us in the league. As I said, I feel mission is accomplished and we need to look to build on this for next season. The best way to do that is to start early and sort out the playing staff we want to keep and where we need to strengthen. Reserves are good to keep people involved, but form and results should be taken with a pinch of salt. Remember McPhee and others were prolific in the reserves...

Thought Elphick had a torrid time (though Donny's front players had good movement - especially 1st half when we looked the most off the pace).

I was beginning to think I'd been watching a different player to many on here-I couldn't believe how s-l-o-w he was....Flinders had to make a couple of key saves because Elphick couldn't catch their front man who was running with the ball from just inside their half. He's a young guy, playing for his future and he was found lacking. I don't expect to see him next season (unless he's willing to play for peanuts).

And no-I didn't boo any of them, players or management but there was certainly reason enough to.

1) How can you test them playing in the reserves? Surely they have to be tested at the highest level.



2) yes maybe your right play them at away games our away fans generally will back the team.

I was beginning to think I'd been watching a different player to many on here-I couldn't believe how s-l-o-w he was....Flinders had to make a couple of key saves because Elphick couldn't catch their front man who was running with the ball from just inside their half. He's a young guy, playing for his future and he was found lacking. I don't expect to see him next season (unless he's willing to play for peanuts).

1) Elphick had no one of experience next to him. His CB partner was his youth team CB partner just over a year ago.

2) Mayo got pulled out of position which meant Lynch moved across and Elphick was often left to fend for himself in the centre. On his full debut.

3) He won a fair bit in the air, made 2 vital interceptions and used the ball well.

Before we slag off a young player making his full debut perhaps we should consider the reasons for a few blips in his performance.

It amazes me that someone would wear slagging off the team as a badge of honour.

If they didn't try fair enough but they did, they just didn't play well. Perhaps people like Aids need to realise if you get behind the team it might raise their game.
