The players and management are happy enough to take the plaudits when we do well, so it's only right that they accept a bit of criticism when we put in a dour performance like that.
I was involved with the chant and don't regret it one iota.

I am not saying we should never criticise the team when they play bad but sometimes i feel the there is no need to as the manager will.

I think the time to chant things like that is when it is time to change the management because you have lost all faith - thats all.

Mind you what do i know i'm just a White member.

It is clear that the crowd play their part in lifting the team, which is difficult to do at Withdean.
It's a two way thing....the players also need to lift the crowd.

C'mon, face it. It's going to be absolute rubbish between now and the end of the season. It's going to be a good pub session interrupted.

The crowd have the right to their opinions! Everyone today paid different amounts of money to be entertained by the albion, whether it be a wealthy person who barely notices £23 for a ticket or a youngster who might spend half his weekly income from his paper round on his entrance and to be quite honest they deserve to see at least something for there money. Todays performance was pathetic, mostly because there was no passion and the fact that everytime we got the ball in the second half we gave the ball away.

For sure. But hardly the players' fault. Dick Knight chose to stake the club's future on playing the youth team in the first team and he's got just about got away with it

Agreed. And generally the fans have appreciated their effort. But today nobody was even getting the basics right. I don't like negative chanting either and very rarely get involved in it, but I do think the team has been very lucky sometimes not to get more stick.

I was in H block and didnt join in with the chant however I can understand the sentiments.

You can all bitch at me being a ST, however, I buy a ST for 22 odd games. which equates to roughly £20 a game.

Now, today, it was obvious that DW recons our season is over and he can play a load of fringe players........well I am sorry, but If I wanted to pay my ST money to watch fringe players I would go and watch the reserves play.

If the last three games of the season are going to be " no performace, so dont care games", then tell us and refund our 3 x £20.

The game today stank of the Stoke game where we were absolutely appauling and McGhee was slated...well I for one reconed Wilkins totally lost any idea of what the hell was going on out there today.

On another tack, I was told that Garry Hart needs two more games to get an extra 1 year contract!!!!

Good rant, can't disagree there.

Are you angered by the decision not to play him, the fact that he probably won't get another contract, or the terms of his contract????

If we have 15 players out of contract - Is it not worth seeing whether they are up to the job and hungry enough to win a new contract? Should we just get rid of the players that are making up numbers and hope we can replace them?

Where has this OGH rumour come from? It makes sense, but I would like to know what is going on.

then if that is the reason he is not being played, then I think this a f***ing disgraceful way to treat a long serving member of the club.

No wonder Alex Bertin is weighing up his options if this is how we are going to behave....I hope Tank isnt going to be treated the same way

Perhaps - but we were never a crowd to 'sing when we are winning' were we? ???
In H block we sing from the first whistle till the last, we do our bit and try and create an atmosphere.Dunno what you're trying to say.......

I was going to go to the game at Tranmere on Monday but have decided not to for a number of reasons, it is an end of season game with nothing to play for, the weather is good and I would rather spend time in the garden rather than sat on the M5/M6, plus I am feeling a little skint at the moment and could spend the shekels on something else.

Here's my opinion (for what it's worth):-

Taking this game in isolation - not out of order. People pay a fair wack to see their team play &, win, lose or draw, expect effort & application.

In the context of the season - jury's out in my mind. Wendy et al have been banging on about the poor home performances over the season & how they need to sort it out. Today doesn't help there.

It was also mentioned previously that he'd give some of the "fringe players" a go once we achieved safety. That's fair enough, but why put so many in the starting 11 in one go? Frutos, Elphick, Loft. Why not have 1 of them starting & bring the others on as the game progresses. Kind of contradicts the club's desire to improve home performances in my mind.

We missed Hammond & Butters today.

Frutos didn't convince me at all.

Thought Elphick had a torrid time (though Donny's front players had good movement - especially 1st half when we looked the most off the pace).

Mayo, as a senior pro, was very disappointing. OK, he's not the swiftest of players but, a la Butters, he should be using his experience to be positionally astute. In the 2nd half, he seemed to be running backwards as their forwards sailed past him. When he moved into midfield I counted 3 consecutive tackles he lost. He's a defender, he should know how to tackle & at least win one of them!!

Overall, we were at least a yard of the pace, lacking in grit & pedestrian in attack.

Still, the sun was shining & we're 1 day closer to July 9th.

Oh, & just in case anyone was wondering, I don't boo the team unless the performances are repeatedly dire over a sustained period.

But you see this is the whole argument about financing the club...I dont give a monkeys about West ham tickets or Gold memberships etc etc...i buy a ST to sit be mates, and take the hassle out of buying a ticket every week.....the club have my money from April 30th 2007......not relying on it in Aril 2008. Therefore I expect to see the best team we possibly have put out for my money...today we did not get that. What message does that send out to me today when my ST renewal dropped on my doorstep?

If wilkins wants to try players out, 1...play them in the reserves or 2 play them away!
