I was at our beautiful stadium today on a physical development day for teachers of reception classes. I am just so proud of our club. So many of the people on the course had never been to the AMEX and were amazed and just awestruck looking around the ground. There were lots of comments that they would be coming back. On top of that one of the trainers was from AITC and he was fantastic, a great ambassador for the club and then there was a lady from the disabilities programme and two of the youngsters helped by this and now on apprenticeships which was absolutely inspiring. The club are doing so many great things, and thats without even thinking about the football. Im so proud to be a Brighton supporter and being there just made me desperate for the season to start again. Saw Des Lynam there too (just as an aside!)

The lady you mention may well be my mum.She is on a 6 month sabbatical from American express with AITC.She teaches the kids with disabilities & takes them on days out.
When she is not teaching them she is contacting local businesses that can help teach the kids new skills in return for advertising in the programme & free tickets.

Good to hear. We should all be proud that the Amex is proving to be a real hub of the community and a source of inspiration to so many even when there's no games on.

Exactly took the wife, children and both parents on the tour Sunday and all were very impressed even the wife and she hates football, both parent thought the stadium and staff a credit to the club and city.

I can feel your excitement in the description of your day. I'm so jealous as I haven't even seen the Amex yet. Just so many positives about our club at the moment it's still a big buzz, even from afar.

Was a regular at the Goldstone and have many happy memories of the place, but all the good things that are happening today both on and off the pitch just wouldn't have happened within the confines of the old ground.
What a change of fortunes (thanks TB and others).

So yep, you're right to be proud. :amex:

Every story like this makes you think that, if they play it rightful there could be a need to make it bigger. Who'd have thunk it?

I've loved the club since the early 70s when my Dad first took me to the Goldstone to watch the likes of Mellor, Piper, etc. I've not been this excited about it since 1983. There's a special buzz and excitement about the club at present and a real sense we're going places. I can't wait for the season to start and to be sitting there in the south west corner with my three young lads.
