In this shop, we talk a lot of things 1970s - and not just footy.

We came onto the subject of music from the mid-70s, good, bad, cheesy or indifferent and The Doobie Brothers' 'What A Fool Believes' came up for discussion. There were four of us, split perfectly down the middle - two thinking what a great song is was/is, two believing to the same degree how cack it was/is.

So, for those that care, what does NSC think?

This might help for those that don't know it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHMQ5dYj1k8

One of my favourite songs of all time, seriously. And the lyrics are great (and sad) too.

I like that one. And generally I'd say that songs of that era have aged much better than most from the '80s.

I'm a total Doobies / McDonald fan, but don't think this is really one of their greatest.

Only two good things came out of the Seventies on the entertainment front: 'The Duchess of Duke Street' and that other sitcom set in a nursing home (Paradise Lodge) and starring Peggy Mount.
