The arse end of Hangleton
West ham is in a sh@t part of London and they have more than their fair share of idiotic fans . It’s not dangerous like Brixton with knives but lots of ‘ geezers ‘ I think is the term .
Me thinks you might not have been to Brixton in over 20 years !

The Avenue then Maloncho
On a change of subject I missed the match yesterday as I went to Victorious. Got talking to a group of lads from Swindon just before The Kaisers came on, plenty of drink flowing and we were having a really good laugh, when they found out I was from Brighton it became limp wrists and “up the arse” comments….

….[sigh]

If their representatives in town last night are much to go on, they seem to be largely made up of 50 yr old blokes with pot bellies and ill fitting sportswear, and skinny runts with big mouths.
In fairness, that could cover a plethora of clubs.

More London nonsense from our illustrious tour guide who thinks there are still slums in the East End, Chelsea players live on the Kings Road, Tottenham players get on the tube at Seven Sisters and the stewarding at West Ham is performed by Pearly Kings and Queens because of local byelaw.

The worst borough for crime in London ?

Westminster.

You don't half post some crap.

I’ve never really liked West Ham fans. I remember one game at theirs (I think it was a 3-1 win for us) and when we scored one of our goals this West Ham fan near us was going mad shouting of sorts of homophobia stuff. Anyway he caught my eye so I blew him a kiss, he went ballistic. Perhaps not my most mature moment but it was funny.

Another time I went there and met a West Ham friend for a drink afterwards. A group of West Ham fans in the bar started some pretty horrible antisemitic chants about Tottenham.

West is BEST
Brixton is a rather nice area now. You can book dinner in the prison.

I was at a street party there maybe five years ago, all upper middle class white families with token black friends.

Breakfast is all smashed avocado and smoothies.

Like any club they have their neanderthals. Had a chat with three after the game who were great. Felt we were a bit unlucky and wished us well for Europe and the rest of the season. But...

... I also know a West Ham fan who describes many of his own fellow travelling support as "horrible people" he himself tries to avoid. Maybe a higher proportion of neanderthals than typical?

I lived in Brixton for a year about 10 years ago. It felt very middle class. But there were still estates where people were stabbing each other. It was like the two worlds co-existed alongside each other without overlapping.

That's London for you. There are no exclusively good or bad areas whatever Live By The Sea would like you to believe.

In most of London you are a few steps from a multi-millionaire or a few steps from poverty.

If you want to get mugged or pick pocketed, go to the West End. If you want an Avocado brunch on sour dough washed down with an artesian pale ale, move to Brixton...

.. if you can afford it.

Not had much experience of them to be fair. So it was a disappointment to deal with a situation at work last night that started as “bantz” and ended up in a speccy “I’ll give it yer” type, calling two blokes
“f***ing Brighton poofs”

Luckily for the speccy div, the two blokes who were a lot bigger than him were also a lot more mature and happy to walk away with us.

Will we ever see a day when the gay retort is not a fallback “insult”’for knuckle draggers?

Apologies. I know it’s an oft aired debate.

My question is, are West Ham fans generally a good bunch and is this tit an anomaly or the norm?
I can't speak for West Ham fans, but answering this question...

Will we ever see a day when the gay retort is not a fallback “insult”’for knuckle draggers?

...I've been dismayed to hear it used as an insult by lads the same age as mine - currently 13. I thought it was a generational thing, and had died out, but sadly not.
