I once presented a 15 minute lecture on the origins of the Cornish Pasty.

That is all.

When you get a genuine Cornish pasty, like, in Cornwall - you can actually watch them be made. It's quite interesting and stuff- and they're f***ing ENORMOUS. And all for a couple of quids.

Exactly..much better value than the stuff you get form WCPC.

I do feel somewhat guilty lining the pockets of West Cornwall Pasty Co PLC when we must have our own local alternatives, but I'm not gonna get them for Forfars that's for sure.

So where are the best pasties in Brighton from?

Did you get any questions?

A few, but here a couple of interesting facts.

The original Pasties were in fact made for fishermen, not as commonly thought, for tin miners. They were savoury at one end, (fish/meat & tatty.......apple in custard or sauce at the other).

The crimp around the pasty is where the tin miners would hold the pasty while eating, then they were discarded. Legend has it that the ghosts of old miners feed on these discarded crimps. The ghosts are known as knockers.

Tis true I'm telling you my andsome!

Overpriced, too little meat and too salty.

otherwise..very nice.

Absolutely gorgeous.

Not sure why they sell them at mainline railway stations tho.

Pig into one on a train and it stinks the entire carriage out like the worst fart in Christendom and makes your fellow travellers think, with very good reason, that you're a right selfish :censored:
