Anyone else on here BORN during a world cup? I was, during Mexico in 1970. They played the last round of group matches on June 10, including Brazil v Romania, Sweden v Uruguay, West Germany v Peru and the sheer GLAMOUR of the USSR v El Salvador.

It's fate - world cups and birthdays are both great, together they're magic.

I was born March 1971 so figure I must have been conceived sometime during the Mexico 70 tournament. Does that count?
Yes. They must have changed ends at half-time etc etc etc...

England won the WC 30th July 1966, I was born July 30th 1967. I think my dad got p*ssed for about 3 months after we won (the dates work out!).

He also missed my birth as they were showing a re-run on TV.

Spooky. I was born only 100 months before the end of the 1970 World Cup.
How strange.
Conversely, I only had to wait 33 months for my very first World Cup to come round. Sadly my head was too full of childish mush and drivel to be able to appreciate it at the time.
