Neutral. Losing Booker could be a blow, he was seen as the ideal middleman between the players and management. What went wrong?

It is a shame but I think his potention was pretty well untenable as soon as Wilkinss was promoted

I can't help thinking that because Booker has gone also that the new manager is already in the wings - with his own number 2 man....I can't think of another reason why Booker would go?

As for MM going - not sure its the right decision but if it is - it's very weird timing!!

I can't help but feel sorry for McGhee. He developed good players, sold them off at considerable profit (Currie, Virgo, Harding) but was not given the cash to replace.

His man management was far from perfect but then again if he was that great we wouldn't have got him in the first place.

Given the financial state of the club anyone who thinks we'll find another manager who'll achieve more than McGhee did in keeping us in the championship for two seasons is wildly naïve imho.

In London village.
it's the right decision. In any organisation there are decisions that have to be made that are right for the organisation even when you may feel sympathy for the individual (there speaks a typical HR bastard ;) ).

The thing that gets me most is the timing. Although generally ambivalent to McGhee I think we should have bitten the bullet back in May. I thought the whole Bloom inspired witch hunt was terribly unfair on him, but the compromise smacked of indecision.

His position was untenable as soon as Wilkins was promoted. I can't help but feel that this undermining of his authority contributed to the debacle surrounding the departure of the arrogant little shit CKR, and probably hasn't helped us attract new players.
