Well, were we.
I think Yes. "It a shame, he tried hard but nothing went his way"

tommy boy said:yes we were, but we should've done it before the transfer window closed/waited until it opened again
timing is ODD

The club can site lack of confidence in MM for not investing in new players, and the new guy has now missed the opportunity to buy. Once again the club gets away with not investing in the team. Call me an old cynic but I think that was a very crafty move by the board.
I think you may be right and but I also think the timing was the WORST possible. If they wanted to sack him they should have done it in the summer and given a new man a chance to settle in, and more importantly the chance to attract players before the transfer window shut. "Shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted" is the expression that springs to mind, as they'd let McGhee start the campaign the should have given him longer. Minority view I know but I'm used to that.Easy 10 said:Maybe during that boadroom split over McGhee's future in the summer, it was agreed to give him the first half-dozen games or so to see how we get on. The encouraging start perhaps served only to paper over the cracks. Then the falling out with CKR, the shambolic transfer window, and the team back down in 17th, finally left McGhee's position unteneble.
Cheers for the good times Mark, but it really was time to go.
