Man Utd Cup hero signs for Bangor
Former Manchester United FA Cup hero Lee Martin has signed for Bangor City. The 37-year-old left-back scored the winner in the 1990 FA Cup final against Crystal Palace to give manager Sir Alex Ferguson his first trophy at the club.
Martin last played a competitive match seven years ago when he had a loan spell at Huddersfield in Division One. He said "I still like to kick a ball or two and the way they've been playing lately, I expect to be scoring against Palace again in the non-league structure with a couple of seasons."
Welsh Premier side Bangor are managed by former Man United striker Peter Davenport and have ex-United favourite Clayton Blackmore on their books.
Martin, who retired from top-flight football because of a back problem, is expected to make his Bangor debut in Saturday's Welsh Cup second round tie at home to Llanberis.
