I was going to post something similar to this. Micky has earnt us two points in the last few days with quality management. At Cheltenham it was his changes that swung the game in our favour and turned around a dismal display and scoreline into a positive. Tonight his tactics, selection, and motivation were spot on. Draws don't do a lot for our league position right now, but looking at it as an individual game it's a STUNNING result. Hardly any teams have picked up results against Leicester this season, and I can't imagine anyone's taken four points off them. Brilliant stuff Micky, you've always been the man:bowdown:

Except the tactics were forced upon us according to Adams quote in the Argus today! Still like you say, on paper at the start of the season you would note a draw at the Walkers to be a great result and that is how we must all look up on this result. Also Cheltenham did it again last night and through away a lead, and as I noted then, Saturday was more about them get nervous than tactical awareness.

Adams keeps saying we never have any luck, yesterday was the second time this season Adams has got lucky because his golden child Virgo has been injured.

He shoehorned him in to every game in what ever position, yet yesterday he was forced to change it because Virgo was injured, the result a gutsy draw against the run away leaders in their stadium and in their kit.

The last time Micky was forced into not playing Virgo, we won our last home game as Murray came off the bench to soccer those Millwall dins

Not every time but Virgo up front can work and it has done many times. What would you say about the Cheltenham game on Saturday then?

My flat mate said it changed the game (in a good way) but I didnt go to the game so dont think I could make a judgement

Virgo upfront SHOULD have worked against Luton. We were putting in loads of crosses which Forster and Robinson werent getting near. Adams did the right thing and put Virgo upfront, but then for some reason once he did that decided to substitue both wingers who weere crossing the ball

Virgo is one of our better players overall. He had a pretty indifferent patch of form (not helped, as you say, by being shoe-horned into any position) earlier in the season. But he has looked good in recent weeks - particularly at right back and he was QUALLA up front at The Whad on Saturday. I don't think you can credibly say that the reason we got a point last night was because Virgo didn't play.

sorry mate I don't agree. Hoofing, and percentage football went out with Graham Taylor, white socks, and Bros. About time Adams took the hint. Pass and move, they did it under Wikins, now drop the donkeys and play the footballers, like last year

I don't agree. There are times when all teams, even those with the best passing ability, will hoof it and be effective. On the other hand, if you don't have the players with decent passing ability and judgement, a passing game is not likely to work too well. The best teams are those that can adjust their playing style to the players on the pitch, the opposition, the pitch conditions and the score at that time. As BOF said, we are way too one-dimensional at the moment, and I think that is the root of our problems.
