Is there ever any good news on our injury setbacks ? Can't remember the last time one of ours was supposed to be out for months and came back much quicker than expected !

Zamora?

Why is anyone talking about who we might sell in the summer?

We need to be thinking about who we're going to play at the back if we have one more injury or suspension to any of Veltman, White, Dunk or Burn

Webster is better than Dunk? He’s been v good but has played well for for just over half a season. Lamptey has been out most the season now and wasn’t playing for our best run.

March is a big miss but pretty sure that Karbs was brought back from loan to be LWB or RWB cover. Potter hasn’t even had him in the last two squads despite being possibly our mom in the cup against Leicester.

Ings is Saints absolute talisman. The lethal striker who has been the reason for most of their recent success. Look at what’s happened since he’s been out.

Almost all teams are missing big players now. Managers have to use their squads accordingly.

Ye, they won... immediatly.

Ankle ligaments are notoriously difficult to recover quickly from so not a surprise and I think he’s been a bigger miss than or as big a miss to the team as March.

His ball carrying this season is phenomenal and often turns defence into attack quicker than a through ball that bypasses a layer as it gives others time to get up with play whilst occupying the defending team as he transitions through the pitch.

Yes, unfortunately, I had that experience of playing football. I missed half the season and did not rejoin until quite a few games. My foot was plastered for several weeks, I am still not sure if they did the right thing as the pressure would be excruciating when I put my foot down until the plaster was removed.

Ankles are just so mechanical.

Poor Webby must be gutted, I know we miss him for drive and all-round aerial battles.

Perhaps he can come round mine for a brew on the 29th as he only lives a short drive.

I could give him some of my vast defender experience.:hilton:

Well the most recent three losses in a row haven’t helped our cause have they?! Jesus.

Sniping is pretty rampant from quite a few posters, nothing new

Everyone is perfectly entitled to their opinions, even if they don’t come across as very supportive.

Its our luck this season. He is out for the season. The same with Lamptey he may never play again in a Brighton shirt if we go down. Arsenal want Lamptey and Webster will go to Spurs.

If we go down I don't expect much of our starting XI to remain, especially defenders. With crowds back and money beginning to return in full flow, relegation would likely see Dunk, Webster, White and Lamptey all gone this summer.

Webster will DEFINITELY leave if we go down. So will Ben White & we know where he would end up. Lamptey to Arsenal, Biss will be off, no more Lallana, Welbeck, its why we have a lot of good but untried players waiting in the wings.

Sorry to be all doom & gloom.......just one of those days......but we are not relagated yet:clap2::thumbsup:

Damn this is really cheering us up isn’t it [emoji38]

This would be terrible news and would leave us very short of cover. But his absence isn't the reason we are losing games, same with March. Lamptey's absence is the biggest miss for us because his dynamism and his skillset really can't be matched by anyone else we have here.

Potter's got to earn his future here by getting the available players to generate the results we need to keep us in the league we need to be in. If he can't do it then he can always have the "injuries" excuse but it won't matter. If he takes us down, that will stay on his CV forever.

If we stay up now, I think some here should really give GP a lot of credit.

To do so with a depleted squad, deprived of three of our best players and with a recruited frontline that can’t hit a barn door if their life depends on it.

I agree with you that it is only my opinion that Webster will leave. I think there is a high chance Lamptey may as well. Ben White i am not so sure but if an offer came in i think it would be Leeds & not Liverpool like some have suggested. Biss i could see going to The Arse as well......i dont think he would stay. As you quite rightly say we have talent in abundance, not tested at Premier league yet, waiting in the wings. It may come to it that the Zeqiri, Moder' s of the squad will get a chance before very long.FWIW i think we have a chance to stay up, its a 10-11 game mini-league with Newcastle & Fulham.

Christ.

We're not dead yet!

In any case, our players are shitehouse and we'd have to pay someone to bring round a skip if we ever contemplated getting rid ???

If we do go down, we will not lose many of our first teamers. Two or three absolute max, and only then if the price is right - and the value put on our players by other clubs is probably significantly less than the values speculated on here.

You could well be right of course but lets say Leeds United came back for White. He would be keen to play Premier league football to enhance his progress to play international football. How do you think Tony could refuse him a move if he put in a transfer request?

I'm not saying we will sell but I could see at least 7 players attracting serious interest if we went down.

Like he did with Dale ???

Reading this thread you would of thought we have a team full of superstars, we really don’t. Bang average players for the PL which is why we are joint third from bottom.

White is probably one of the most likely to be sold. If Leeds do come back in with a £30M offer (with a decent sell on clause) and White wants to go, that might be te time to cash in - if Clarke is good enough to play on the left of a three, allowing Webster to move back to his favoured position on the right, leaving us with £30M (plus maybe a bit more if Uncle Tony is willing) for that elusive striker, it might stick in the craw, but it might also be the best piece of business we do this summer.

According to Naylor, Webster prefers to play on the left.
