Crap Town
The snow showers are supposed to be heading northwards to Scotland. Only rain here in Crap Town and the sprinkling of snow overnight has turned to slush.

Way out west
National weather forecast said an occasional shower during the evening for the west of England, the forecaster on Midlands tonight said 10-15 Cm...not much difference there then!

I think we're dry for a least a few hours now... where I am, we're at the centre of the low pressure, but it's got a dry core with clouds fanning out from it, so the precipitation is around the edges. I'd say that there's a further chance of snow towards tomorrow morning, as the low moved north, dragging a W to NW wind around it's SW flank, and bringing some showers along the channel and onto the Sussex coast.

This animation shows the wind to our south moving some showers off the Cherbourg peninsula, which might track our way

After that, I'd say Friday onwards looks quite hopeful as well... for snow.

As a kid I always wanted to be a weather man, and then I got the wrong A level results to go to Reading or QMC Uni... so you call call me a frustrated weather man

Hence my interest in it...

Forget US and any other weather amateurs on this message board, PUNXSUTAWNEY PHIL says we are in for another 6 weeks of winter. So it must be true...

Punxsutawney Phil sees shadow, winter to continue - USATODAY.com

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. — The world's most famous groundhog has seen his shadow which, legend has it, means this already long winter will last for six more weeks.

Punxsutawney Phil's forecast was announced in front of thousands of revelers gathered at Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney, about 65 miles northeast of Pittsburgh. They gathered Monday morning in near freezing temperatures, with many revelers buoyed by the Super Bowl victory by the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday night.

German tradition holds that if a hibernating animal casts a shadow on Feb. 2 — the Christian holiday of Candlemas — winter would last another six weeks. If no shadow was seen, legend said spring would come early.

Since 1887, Phil has seen his shadow 98 times, hasn't seen it 15 times, and there are no records for nine years, according to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club.
