We need a creative player in central midfield.

I know we have vicente but he will go in the summer and will barely play until then anyway. Bridcutt has too much to do. As a result of the lack of creativity, we rarely play through balls and imo that is the reason why CMS has not shone. I really hope that Gus buys a creative central midfielder in the summer. I do not think we will get in the playoffs this year but still think we are on the up and am very happy as an Albion supporter. Of course we all get frustrated from time to time but calling for the managers' head is irrational imo.

Thoughts?

Out of all the positions in our team, I would say this is probably the lowest priority. Vicente, Orlandi and Lopez can all play well in that position.

We have enough cultured midfield players. Orlandi can make the role his own.

I would suggest that it is more of a priority to have a more effective version of Hammond/Dicker/Crofts who can take some of the pressure off Bridcutt. Someone with a physical presence who can take control of the midfield by the scruff of the neck. Yesterday was a classic example of how we are lightweight without Bridcutt and can get outgunned in midfield.

This. Crofts was brought in as the power that run between boxes, what a sack of shit he's been since coming back.

No we just need less (defensive) in midfield. The creative ones such as Lua Lua hardly get a look in.

I agree with this. Hammond and Dicker are too pedestrian for the cut and thrust of the championship and Crofts has been a disappointment since he re-signed.

We don't need a creative midfielder. We have three. We need a striker who can score 25+ goals. Hopefully we now have one!

OK fair enough but why do we very rarely see through balls? Are the players under instruction not to? When you have Bridcutt, Hammond and or Dicker playing it is all too defensive imo.

We desperately need a Steve Sidwell type midfielder. Croft was brought in to do this but has been poor since resigning for us. I think that we bought the wrong midfielder from Norwich should have gone for Johnny Howson who is usually only on the bench for them.

I agree with the OP. I think he means someone to spray passes around to the forward runners from alongside Bridcutt. Orlandi, Vicente and Lopez are too busy acting as forwards looking to receive the ball rather than be in that role. Dicker is the closest we have to that.

Who needs to be fed the ball (in the same decade) in front of the goal and not down by the corner flag
