"We fill our stadium"

Why? The Reading fans to our right were giving us grief about worst support they'd ever seen. (And considering we almost filled the away end I sincerely doubt it)

You really have a bee in your bonnet about what people can and can't chant. Is there a list of songs you deem acceptable and those you don't that we can have a look at?

"There's no one there" was sung which didn't really work as the attendance was 22,100 and the stadium holds 24,100.. I did join in though :)

It is a great shame we did not pull one back in the second half. If we had, the great escape song would have gone on until the end. When we did sing, the Reading boys to our right always went quiet.

what's wrong with that? Mildly amusing I think. Not earth shattering, but why not? And it's TRUE.

What is it with all the 'cringeworthy' facepalmtype comments about what people sing?

I thought that the Reading who made some noise were good considering there were only a few hundred singing or making any noise at all. I know it was BD but the general atmos was quite poor from the homies.

I cannot quite believe people were singing the theme to the Great Escape.
It's completely inappropriate, not one of the away fans has been in a film, typically on tv at Christmas, depicting allied soldiers escaping from a German POW camp.

well, there were 2500 albion at the game and we were soooooo quiet. There was more noise at derby from 700!! Not surprised Reading fans were singing that, we'd be doing the same if roles were revered.

anyway, there's a thread at every home game about the missing 2000 supporters at the amex, as the crowd is always around about the 19000 mark . Yesterdays crowd was over 22000 in a 24000 capacity!!

Sorry but that's just not true. I was at the game and I couldn't hear Reading at all for most of it.

I've also just watched a video that was taken from the half way line at the start of the game and all you can hear is us. At the beginning of games at home, we drown out the away support, but yesterday you would have thought we were the home side.

Readings support was generally lacklustre imo.

All you seem to do is moan. What happened? Did Santa shit in your stocking?

Have to admit, slightly bizarre chant at a stadium that was only 2k under capacity and over 1k of those seats empty were in the away end, plus it was a sell out a week before.

Unfortunately our home support has never been particularly vocal, mainly due to the fact that, due to the demographics of our fanbase, we don't have a big group of travelling supporters for away games and so most of those songs are not familiar to the vast majority of fans at home games and don't catch on. We're a growing club with a young fanbase and it wasn't so long ago that we were just little Reading in the sheds at Elm Park but I can't say I am too bothered with it, our crowds are increasing, we have a good vocal support away from home and we're doing the job on the pitch more often than not.
